1. Layer Fishing Clothes To Give Yourself Options

Even on days that promise to be sizzlers, mornings can start off a bit damp and cool. Start with a base moisture wicking t-shirt with built in SPF protection. A good lightweight fishing shirt over that will provide an excellent breathable layer. Huk fishing shirts and Columbia fishing shirts with stain repellant are both excellent options.

A breathable pair of zip off fishing pants or fishing shorts will work with the fishing shirts layering.

2. Proper Fishing Shoes And A Fishing Hat Are Important

Wearing shoes that provide a gripping sole and skin covering are important to prevent slipping and potential injuring from errant fishing hooks, rough decking surfaces, etc...

A water resistant boonie hat with a wide brim, cinch cord, and drawstring that fits under the chin for windy days will offer both sun and heat protection. Another good fishing hat option is a quick dry baseball cap with detachable face and neck flaps.

3. Don’t Forget The Polarized Sunglasses

Not just any pair of sunglasses will do for fishing. Polarized sunglasses can significantly cut down the glare off of the water allowing you to better see fish and objects in the water. Also, these sunglasses help shield your eyes from the sun’s UV rays.

4. Apply The Sunscreen

Make sure to put on sunscreen before you head out on the water or fish off the banks. And don’t forget to bring along plenty of water to stay hydrated. Lastly, as with any outdoor sport, if you are headed out alone, be sure and let someone know what time you plan to be back.

Enjoy yourself out there!
